Tom K Medra 1 year ago

Google has unveiled Pixel Care+, a new device protection program designed to give users broader coverage and better support for their Pixel and Fitbit devices. Announced on Wednesday, Pixel Care+ replaces both Google Preferred Care and Fi Device Protection in the United States, with current subscribers set to be moved to the new plan in the coming months.

According to Google, the program is aimed at delivering a β€œhigher level of coverage, service, and peace of mind” for owners of its hardware products. Key benefits include unlimited accidental damage claims, extended warranty support, and coverage for mechanical failures. Users will also receive $0 screen and battery repairs, $0 post-warranty malfunction claims, and access to genuine Google parts and replacements.

Pixel Care+ members gain access to priority support from Pixel specialists, can file claims directly through the Google Store or the My Pixel app, and enjoy upgraded shipping options such as free next-day delivery for replacement devices. Loss and theft coverage is also available as an optional add-on.

Pricing varies depending on the device. For instance, coverage for the Pixel 10 is set at $10 per month or $199 for two years. The plan is available for a wide range of devices, including Pixel 8 and later models, the Pixel Watch 2 and newer, Pixel Tablet, Fitbit Ace LTE, Fitbit Versa 4, Fitbit Sense 2, Fitbit Charge 6, and Fitbit Inspire 3.Pixel Care+ can be added within 60 days of purchase. Once enrolled, users can submit a claim online, choose a repair location, or schedule a convenient time for service, making the process more seamless than before.
